Mindfulness sharpens the mind, calms the body, reduces stress, & promotes health. In this special interest group, held a few times per month in The Historic Pearl, I approach mindfulness from a health & wellness, research-based perspective, and teach the skills for the purposes of relaxation, health promotion & self-growth. Increase awareness, gain more control over thoughts and emotions, and improve skills that will help you adjust your perspective, even after you leave the group.
Whether you've never practiced mindfulness before or practice daily, come work toward wellness & find centering in the midst of your busy week. I teach many avenues toward mindfulness using the breath, sound, nature, walking, eating, focused intention, etc., with a variety of self-growth themes (self-esteem, destructive thought patterns, love & kindness, forgiveness, letting go of guilt, etc.), so that you can develop your own personal style and challenge yourself to be who you want to be. Come join us! ***Held at The Pearl (click here for schedule and see FAQ for directions).
GROUP STRUCTURE: A group member made this video of their experience. I hold brief discussion related to research and self-growth, followed by a guided exercise, and then some wrap-up discussion of experiences and insights:
