VIDEO + IN-VIVO SESSIONS
|
I have HIPAA-compliant, secure video technology that allows me to meet with clients throughout Texas. No program or download is required -- just a simple weblink to a very protected site from any smart device. It's the same care but from the comfort of your home or work space. Research has shown that video sessions are just as effective as office sessions when the right approach is being used. Please contact me to determine if this approach is right for you.

I sometimes hold sessions in-vivo, or in the world outside the office. In-vivo treatment sessions are prescribed for certain treatment reasons and can be especially effective for anxiety-related disorders, such as phobias, PTSD, and social anxiety. I join my client in the process of recovery beyond the therapy office. We will discuss this if it fits with your treatment needs.

I am a private pay, out-of-network provider, meaning I DO NOT take insurance up front. However, most all clients can get partially reimbursed through their insurance -- Please email me and I will help you navigate that process. I also take Health Savings and Flex Spending Account payment (HSA/FSAs). I typically see my clients get 30-60% of my rate back in their pocket from insurance reimbursement, depending on the plan.
I am not on insurance panels by choice. There are multiple reasons for this: 1) Insurance does not recognize levels of specialization or training quality in providers; 2) Insurances require a formal diagnosis to be kept on record, which decreases privacy; 3) Insurances often restrict the number of sessions, which may not be in the individual's best interest; 4) Insurances require much paperwork and create delayed payouts. Extra specialization allows a provider to offer research-based, action-oriented, high quality treatment. Thus, to ensure that I am able to function at my best to protect my patients' privacy and provide the most efficient care, I do not work with insurance directly but do help with reimbursement in all ways possible, My focus is on alleviating your symptoms in a confidential way that is the very best for YOU.
If you are looking for someone who takes your insurance, the best way to find a provider is to go to www.psychologytoday.com, use the therapist finder tool, enter your city (or state if video therapy works for you), then filter the profiles by your insurance provider. Look at the therapists, see who has good training in CBT, ACT etc. and seems personable, make a few calls, and try them out. Finding a good therapist is a lot about finding someone with good training, but also finding a good personality match :)
